My heart was sprinting,

my mind — a furnace of sweat,

my eyes blurred into the infinite,

blank as the sky before a storm.

Not an illness, not a wound—

something deeper,

when her hand found mine.

Or was it mine that reached?

I can’t tell.

It felt like a mother guiding her child,

yet I forgot who was leading

and who was learning to cross.

She said nothing—

just breathed into my palms,

her fingers weaving not only through my hand,

but through my very breath.

Her eyes—

two galaxies where silence speaks,

and I stood there,

a wanderer lost in constellations.

She walked, she spoke,

I only answered with small hums,

as if afraid words might shatter the spell.

And when she left for her home,

I was left smiling in the streets,

a foolish child with pockets of starlight.
